I look at that batch of croutons and think, STUFFING! My favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner.

Stuffing is one of the best parts of Thanksgiving in my opinion. In my mind the only thing that beats it is a well cooked turkey or goose.

Thanks for reminding me, I have to make plans for Thanksgiving.

Had extra bread,,, so needed to make a batch of croutons. First toasted on stovetop, in skillet, with butter. Next day into oven @200°F for about 30 minutes, on a cookie sheet. This removed all the moisture. Now they are stored in a container. We use as needed ,,,, mostly with soup, or salad.

Looks good!

I got some news. There is hope for the car. Allow me to explain.

The mechanic said it would cost about US$1500 to replace the timing belt and some other things that need to be replaced at the same time, like the water pump. Even then, there is no guarantee that it will fix the engine. You can’t tell if there is engine damage from the broken timing belt until after you replace the timing belt. If the engine is busted, it will take US$8000 to fix.

Where the hope comes in is two places. First off, I have experience with cars. I’ve replaced a lot of parts. Second, I actually found a kit online that includes everything you need to replace the timing belt, including a water pump. It was $130 total.

We decided to buy it and ship it to our house. I’m going to attempt to replace all these things on my own. If the car truly is busted, I have nothing to lose. It’s better to spend US$130 and try to fix it myself then spend US $1500.

If you guys want, I can keep you updated on my progress.

I got the old timing belt out. Obviously broken. It was like this when I first saw it. I just need to remove a few more parts, then I will be ready for when the new parts come in the mail.

No going back now!
