Still alive @jnicholes I have allot faith in you!

Thanks. I appreciate it.

Here is my progress so far:

I got the car propped up so I could work underneath it.

Here is the engine excluding the radiator and a few other parts.

There’s the radiator and the other parts. I needed to remove the radiator in order to access the timing belt more easily.

And here is why I am at a stopping point until I get the right tool in the mail.

The crankshaft pulley needs to come off. I was able to get the timing belt out because it was snapped in half, but in order to get a new one in I need to remove the crankshaft pulley to access the full mechanism.

I need a special tool to get it off. It’s currently in the mail.

Man, I need to get back on the baking subject.

I’m going to try making some sourdough waffles tomorrow. Same recipe I used last time.

Jared YOU ARE a guy of many Talents.

It is possible to create one's own using just flour and water, but it's a lengthy, tedious and usually wasteful process. Many, if not most of us here, got starts from @ronott1. I managed to kill mine through mismanagement and got a new one from my pastor's daughter. Ronott's is strong and good with a fascinating history.

A few days ago, the neighbor asked me if I made candy. She then proceeded to spend about 20 minutes, telling me how much she missed old-fashioned fudge, and couldn’t stand fudge made with marshmallows or condensed milk. I asked today if she would still want it if it didn’t set up well. “Uh, yes,” exclaimed the 84-y-o woman. After about an hour, she started drooling over the ways she would eat it (hot fudge sundaes and banana splits in addition to with her hands, and with a spoon…).
After the hard boil, and simmer, I brought over about two tablespoons of the slightly cooled fudge before the vanilla and butter were added. She forgot to let her husband try it. IMG_6310.jpeg IMG_6311.jpeg

The butter and vanilla added, you can see that the fudge is already hardening on the spoon. I was actually disappointed. Once I had it in the pan, I brought the pot and spoon over to share with her husband and daughter. Instead, she kept me in the door as she devoured the remnants. Her husband did get a small taste from the spoon that she missed. :lau

IMG_6318.jpeg I liked the bumpy look, so I didn’t smooth it out. The neighbors are in possession of it now. I expect it to be gone tomorrow. Mom liked that I used Hershey Special Dark powder, and the fudge is soft. Dad likes that he actually got some. Daughter was asleep, but will be into it when she wakes.
