So I am currently sitting on my sofa, wrapped in a blanket, feeling sorry for myself, sneezing/coughing, feeling absolutely crap (it was bearable while I have been busy, but now I’ve sat down…) anyone have any home remedies that work or that have been passed down through the generations?

I had an old aunt once who swore by using egg white on nappy rash, apparently it worked. Although don’t try this at home!! 🤦‍♀️ I have no idea wether it worked or not, I’m just using it as an example.

Hope you feel better soon!!

Lemon and honey for a sore throat (if the sore throat's caused by postnasal drop, anyways). A tablespoon of straight lemon juice on the back of the tongue, swallowed quickly, then follow up a minute later with a little bit of honey. I was told the lemon juice "cuts through the phlegm" in your throat and the honey soothes. Or just have them both together in some hot tea to feel warm and cozy.

Seems to work okay for me, and anyways, it can't hurt! :)

Hot. Pickled. Okra.

Works like the lemon juice, but also drains your sinuses.

Stomach buffering:
Lightly buttered and lightly salted popcorn.

Antivrals:
Elderberry, if you are sure it is not covid.
Tart cherry... just a few as a dose.

Fluids and heat/soothing for sinuses and throat:
Lemon tea with honey

Fluids, heat/soothing, and electrolytes:
Chicken noodle soup.

All these are handed down by generations of my family. So is Elderberry or An apple a day and regular sleep as preventatives.

Hope you feel better soon

Thank you!! They are the supplies I have now. I’m just having hot lemon water with pure honey now. I’ve spent the whole night coughing really bad, a dry cough, the plus side is I feel like I’ve done a workout 🏋️‍♀️ my ribs and muscles ache 🤒
