Are there any safe products, or home-made concoctions, to spray on the floor of the run to keep the dust down?

My pen is four inches of construction sand. However, under it is clay soil and decomposed sandstone. This material works its way up through the sand and, combined with the feather dander, creates a very dusty condition when it's stirred up.

Beyond hosing it down with water, are there any other non-toxic remedies?

I'm having a problem with dust, too. We are very dry...been a bad year with very little rain. I have sand in my run, too. Will subscribe to see if anyone has a suggestion.

Do you mean your coop or your run?

If it's in your coop, ventilation!

In your run....I'm not sure. I have about 6,000lbs of sand in mine and never any's not super-fine sand though...
