Any Metalheads out there?

Finally! A concert I was at where Boyd wasn't!

With Christmas coming up, anyone else like "Jingle H*lls Bells" and the "I Am Santa Claus" Iron Man parody by Bob Rivers?

Also, didn't Mercyful Fate of all bands have a Christmas song? Didn't Henry Rollins have one too?

Please, no one mention the Bon Jovi one!

I should have bumped into you, seems like we've probably seen the same concerts a dozen times, but I'm think it was hard to pick you out of a crowd of 100,000 peeps

ETA: boyd, who had nothing else better to do with his money back then.

You weren't the big bald guy with the chain at the Type O concert were you?

We probably have seen one another. Although, if I was standing at the right angle, you probably wouldn't have seen me since I only weighed about 90 lbs then. Also, those concerts were attended between the ages 14-16, so I was probably a little young for ya to be noticing then.

I moved out my own at 17 so other than the Everclear/Fastball concert which friends had an extra ticket for, I haven't been to any concerts since. Besides, I get to live vicarious through DH's stories about Ozzy and Rush. "We were playing at a hotel in Battle Creek where Ozzy and his band in the 80s happened to be staying, did I mention that Randy Rhoads was his guitar player then? And any rate--did I mention I was in Florida when Randy RHoads died? I was just a few miles away at the time. And so Ozzy and Randy Rhoads were there, and I got talking to one of his body guards who mentioned that The Firm was also there that night and did I want to meet Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers? So I said yes and remembered that Ginger Baker was their drummer and HE used to play with Clapton."

Actually, the guy I was engaged to my senior year of high school was a big metalhead too. When he and I split up, he stopped by my place of employment to give me my share of the money out of our closed bank account. As he left, co-worker Matt (the one that got to go see Metallica in place of me
somad.gif
came running into the back telling me "Oh, man, there was this guy wou would have LOVED!! He had long, thick hair, a Black Sabbath t-short, a leather jacket, a couple of Celtic tattoos and 'Ozzy' tattooed across his knuckles!"

"You idiot! That's my ex!"

People can also PM me for DH's reaction to Ozzy. It involves words I can't use on a family forum.

One of my favorites. I was reading through the post thinking about Dream Theater...and Corrosion of Conformity, when I saw your post. I have seen Dream Theater probably a half dozen times. Once from the 2nd row of the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA. Great place to see a show and seeing Dream Theater there was great. John Petrucci is absolutely the best guitar player out there. The first time I saw them was at the Electric Factory in Philly back in 2000. They played Scenes From A Memory beginning to end. It was too much.

I know this song isn't metal, but there's so many Michiganiacs on here I thought they'd appreciate it.

Official Xmas season:

"Rusty Chevrolet" (tune of Jingle Bells) by Da Yoopers

"Rust and snow
The heater's broke
The door just blew away
Light a match
To see the dash
Then I start to pray

Rust and snow
The heater's broke
Radio's still OK
Oh what fun
It is to ride
In a rusty chevrolet!"
