Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Wow, what beautiful birds 16paws!

They are a stunning pair!

Your pullet Dixie is indeed a light brahma, and a beautiful one she is! I am no expert at all, but as you can see, my pullet Daisy has clean legs, with no feathering on them. Your Dixie has beautiful feathered legs, just as the light Brahmas should have. Below is another picture of some Light Brahma pullets, you can see Dixie looks just like them!

I love her white body, she is truly a pretty bird.

Now on to that handsome cockrel you have next to her. Is he a dark Brahma? He is stunning as well. They look the picture of health! Are they your only birds? How old are they? Looks like they are getting about that time soon enough!

Welcome aboard Marie!

Pretty birds Marie. Brahmas are so pretty. They are on my wish list.

Debbie that cake looks and sounds wonderful. I hope you will post that recipe later?

I wish that everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day.

Good Morning! Great News. I got confirmation that Lemon laid yesterday! When I came home we had two wonderful blue eggs. This means I think I can expect my 10 for 10 day any day now. Her chin feathers have almost all returned as well. So all is good in our chickin hood! Got to run for now all this reading about baking has got me very hungry, I think I see a trip to Dunkin Donuts this morning!

Funny Daisy story and that cake looks to die for Debbie. I was so excited that all 4 of my girls are laying but i'm wondering if i have a problem beginning. Someone again laid a shelless egg in the middle of the coop floor and I was getting ready to scoop poop when I found it but so did everyone else and they quickly made it their breakfast, too bad because the yolk was huge, i didn't find any shell. I just went out and collected 2 eggs from my reliable RIR and one of my barred but found a broken egg in the middle of the coop floor with remnants of yolk in the nest box and other various locations. So..........not sure what to think of this. I found my partridge's tiny little egg in the coop floor yesterday , perfectly fine, so i don't know if she's just laying them there or if she's laying them in the box but knocking it out when she gets out??? Ohy vey. I have oyster shell out for them but they don't seem to eat it. So, immaturity or a problem??

Congrats on Lemon's egg. 10 for 10, that is eggceptional! LOL

I have not yet given my girls oyster shell... Everyone says how they don't seem to care for it. But I do give my girls egg shells. I just save all egg shells that I have and crunch them up real good. Some people bake them at a low temp for a short time. My girls LOVE it...
I'm hungry... why do I want something sweet for breakfast?;)

Oh and I got to take some pics.... I got two new girls yesterday. A BO and a very light color Ameraucana... They are only 9 days old. So cute at this age.

I'll try the egg shells. I was looking at the Ameracauna breed. I want to get 4 more this spring but haven't decided on breed. I really want a brahma but not sure how well they would do here in the winter so i'm a bit hesitant. Maybe another RIR or a Wyandotte. So many to choose from and I want them ALL...LOL I wouldn't mind trying to raise some meat birds.

Got 5 eggs yesterday....
Here is my container of eggs thus far minus 2 dozen that I already used or shared. The 2 white ones are my last store bought eggs, which I will boil and feed to the girls as a treat.
