Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Wow slow day on here huh MB! I guess it's a Monday. Can't wait til my bantams start to lay... they still have a couple months :/ does it take them longer to mature? I can't believe how little but all feathered out they are. I have been letting them free range when I'm in the yard with them. They love to practice flying

She's 8 months old, layed last week of Feb. all of March and 1st week of April then nothing that I know of. We've been out of town for 2 weeks and now we're back. I've been watching her with no eggs for 4 days we've been back. Other wise she's absolutely fine. Eating, drinking, acting like the rest of them.
Hmmmm. Odd but I guess as long as everything else is fine, no egg bound issues sounds like so maybe she's just not in the swing of things yet? Weird.

I just really started getting lots of eggs and then my silkie decides to go broody! Haven't had any eggs from her in over a week. Then, this morning I go out and my EE decides to go broody as well! I am trying to break them because I don't need chicks, I need eggs!

Three egg day!!!!! Unfortunately one was shell less, and one had a super thin shell, but the last one was HUGE. So I think all my new girls are laying which is great and Hermia got moved into the tractor last night. So 10 more days till we know if we get any chicks.

I think 2 of my girls had an egg laying speed race today. I heard a ton of noise coming from the coop so I went out to check. Of course when they hear the sliding glass door open and close they run to the corner of the run. I looked in the coop to find a warm Wellie egg in the nest box and a warm SS egg on the coop floor. Crazy chickens. They might want a second nest box. They have been fine so far and I have seen 3 girls at one time laying in the nest box with out bugging one another. We'll see, if I find anymore on the floor I will have DH make them another nest box.

On a side note I enjoyed my first watermelon of the season. My girls got the rind and they loved it. Maybe they will all lay for me tomorrow.

jklyles1 congrats on the new layer!! I still get so eggcited for every egg I get. I hope that feeling never goes away.

I've been reading this thread and now I'm joining in! I have two EE hens, both are now 18 weeks. I can't wait for that first egg!

Welcome to the thread!!! We love pictures! I loved my EE she took for EVER to start laying but when she did she laid nice big green eggs she laid 5 eggs for me before something got her. :( I have to wait for some of my other girls to die before my hubby will let me get anymore. I will definitely be getting either more EE's.
