Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Thanks for the cute video, he was sure determined and very fast for a turtle. Yesterday it was 83 and windy. Today, rain, still windy and low 50s. Yay. The girls are not impressed.....My Lucy sang her little heart out yesterday. A couple of times I checked, no egg so not sure why she was in the mood but I love it anyway. Clemi has returned to her sweet self. I got a Clara update yesterday. It seems she decided she was joining the flock on her own. However, she is trying to climb the fence run, getting her leg stuck, etc. I hope she settles down soon. I guess there was harmony among the group so I hope that stays. I know she just wants to roam. Dog still not well.

Okay, I have to post this. It's too long to watch much of so don't unless you really want to. My tortoise has been hanging out in the chickens' courtyard...didn't think much of it since he ranges all over the yard and the chicken run is new (to him).. Today, however, I saw something I've never seen before....he is actually CHASING the chickens and bobbing his head. He's about 16 years and has apparently just reached his sexual maturity....I think he wants to mate with the hens!!!! ROFL I've never seen him move so fast!

I wish I could stick the video directly in this box, but it won't let me so I put it up on youtube....

Oh my.... that was sooooo funny

I had to send the link to my friend. She is the President of the tortoise club of the Inland empire. She will really like that. I have 3 tortoise. One is a Salcata that is always chasing my Cal desert female. Wrong species so they can not cross breed but no were near as funny as a tortoise chasing a chicken. My friend told me that they males will chase anything female and if there is nothing ... then a rock or anything big enough that won't move will be fine.
Was not expecting that .... what next will our creatures do to make us laugh? Thank goodness they are there for us.

Well we are back :( 2 weeks of 80-90 degree weather and at home its a whole 48 and windy BRRRRR! I haven't got a 1st egg myself from our EE babe that started laying while we were gone yet. Waiting... They dropped to 3-4 eggs a day while we were gone, but I got 5 Thursday and 5 yesterday :) I noticed that 3 of the 8 were bleeding at the neck so I blu coated them and now all seems fine again. Getting MY first blue eggs today :) Hers Thursday was HUGE for only have started a week ago? Wow! Glad we're home now so I know for sure all is good :) But I do miss the heat :(

Goblin just layed her 1st egg a week ago. All have been like the one on the right, Thursday she layed this huge one LOL

The one on the right is from today :) Now we have her sister left to start laying, I thought being born the same day they'd start the same time? Also our Dominic (Lilly) hasn't layed for over a week, is that normal?

Do you guys track eggs? Obviously a lot of time and record keeping of some sort would go into breeding/hatching, but as far as laying pullets/hens just for eggs (suppose for soup when the eggs stop O_O but I'm easing my way into the whole eating them until I can step up to that end of chicken keeping- lmao) and do it all myself...n e ways...so I suppose I'm asking should I track eggs from my girls? If so anyone have a simple way to not miss a day (or three) of record keeping? They all started this month and so far I just take a daily pic from my phone. But long term eggs add up , just looking for input. Thanx, sorry if this isn't the place for it, I neglected taking time to look due to excitementin mommy timeout! Shhhhh kids, hubby, cat, dog & the girls are napping ! What a beautiful day here today.
