Any other disease that presents as coccidiosis but isn't? Urgent help needed!

If it is Mareks will it slowly wipe out my other birds? What course of action should I be taking? Separating the infected birds and... wait for them to die?

I still have those same questions. I've got 17 seemingly healthy chickens left. Two (of 3) of my Tetra Tint pullets just started laying on July 1st and 3rd. I've got some Golden Comets that should start laying any day now, a pair of Golden Sebrights, a very pretty Welsummer Roo, a few other mutt roosters, in addition to my older chickens that grew up with the Roo that I lost. I was planning to re-home quite a few roosters, but can't now because of the diagnosis from the necropsy. The girls are just the sweetest things in the world, and it's painful to think that they could just waste away and die on me. I have no idea what to expect now. I really hope in your case it is not Mareks.

I am adding some pictures of the remaining girl in the brooder in the kitchen. I couldn't find any antibiotics to give her. Does she look sick to you?

Here she is sitting in the brooder. She doesn't look lively and she isn't making a sound.

This is what she does when I reach into it:

And then this is after waiting a minute or two before putting her back in:

I don't think I'd give her any antibiotics right now, if I were you. You don't really know what you're treating. I did give my roo Tylan for a couple of days until he died, but that's because he had drainage from his eye and I thought it was respiratory. It turned out that it was a secondary issue, or an opportunistic infection (E.coli) brought on by him already wasting away from the Mareks.

It's hard to tell from the pics whether or not she's not feeling well, at least to me. Her tail is up in the second pic, but down in the 1st and 3rd. Looks more fluffed up in the first one too.

I really wish I knew what to tell you. I know how frustrating it is. Maybe someone with a little more expertise can give you advice on the antibiotics. I'm sorry

Thanks. I think she is on her way out. I give her a day or two. She is starting to look like the others. Right now, I am worried about losing my entire flock. I am thinking either way that I am going to close it down and never let in any birds older than a day.

Aw, I'm really sorry. I hope you don't lose her. If you go the necropsy route (if she doesn't make it) it will probably take 2 to maybe 3 weeks to get the final results. They'll more than likely give you preliminary results fairly quickly, but the lab work takes some time.

You're doing the best you can do for her. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that you can pull them all through whatever is going on.

Thank you!

Right now I am feeling a little angry that I spent $30 on dead birds that could also possibly kill my entire flock. *** do they have? How is it that the seller has no sick birds? So this means they got it (whatever) from the swap right? The first one died two weeks after we brought it home. Then the roo two days after her. Now the last girl is sick a few days after the roo died. I am supposed to go to the beach on Sunday and I am wondering if I am going to come back to a dead flock.

I have yet to find out what/where the Marek's came from in my flock. I can trace it back to the first bird that died. That breeder never had any illness in her flock. I know others who have been told the same...you can make your own conclusions.
