Any other "Old McDonald" farms out there?

We have
4 dogs
3 cats
5 rabbits
1 fish
1 ferret
11 chickens

most of our animals are rescues. I've found that they make the best additions to our family. They love twice as much as any you could buy from a pet store.

i have

around 30 Mini Horses
10 Cows
20 Chickens
1 Guinea Fowls
1 Cats
2 Dogs
12 Fish
6 Indian Ring Necked parrots

and some other things i can't remember

New to this site. I used to have a houseful of critters when I lived in the city--dogs, cats, birds, rats, fish, rabbits. Significant Other drew the line at naked rats, so I downsized. Back on the farm now, and all I have are a pitbull and a dachshund, two dozen Jersey Giants, twenty Mottled Houdans (tasty!), a dozen Bourbon Red turkeys, and my appaloosa mule, the lovely Miss Ruby. Oh, and the visiting dignitaries, Ira the donkey, and Charlie the ox (what do you do with one ox?). But spring is coming. The auctions will be full of pigs, calves, goats, rabbits....

40 acres and a mule!

My husband should see these postings....he thought I was animal crazy. I have

3 horses
1 very sweet pet Dairy Cow named Rose (part Jersey/part Holstein)
2 German Shepherds
1 Saint Bernard
1 90 gallon aquarium
1 120 gallon aquarium
1 10 gallon tank
1 20 gallon tank
1 betta tank (3 gallon)
1 Koi pond
1 indoor rabbit
4 African Grey Parrots
1 Canary
4 pet squirrels (Hope, Charity, Wrangler, Destiny)
11 chickens
2 roosters
30+ head of pet deer (who live on my property) They are fed 3xday and never miss a feeding.

and one wonderful husband who puts up with me and the whole crew.

we are a wanna be with
5 dogs
2 cats
6 chickies
3 ducks

and always praying for more!

but tell me how do you keep the dogs away from the chickens???

We four gals are trying to catch up first with the neighbors and then with y'all.

We have:

5 dogs (a purebred black Lab, a sibe/collie/shepherd mix, a lab "wannabe" who's really a red-bone hound, a GSD/Aussie shepherd mix, and a purebred Finnish Spitz)

1 thoroughbred horse, just 2 years old... so our work is cut out for us

2 bred ewes (a Polypay/Merino cross and a pure Merino)

1 pure Merino ram

1 wether lamb (Merino and terribly spoiled)... his name is Freezer and that's where he's going in about 4 months.

1 bummer (just 8 days old), a little female who's most likely a PolyPay/Suffolk cross

1 bummer who won't survive the week... he's all crippled up, but makes a nice bedwarmer for the little female.

1 beta fish

2000+ redworms who are pampered for their vermincompost

and within the week, we'll add 35 chicks.

We have about 10 acres of desert land and very little water. We have the rights to 1 acrefoot of water, so have to keep an eye on what we raise. The good news is that animals take a lot less water than plants.

Within the next couple of weeks, we'll be adding our 20x10 greenhouse.

The goal here is to be about 75% self-sufficient within the next 4 years.

As of May 4 we have added another 4 Merino ewes, one with twins (Freezer's Mama), and possibly two of the others are preggie.

My husband definately needs to see everybody elses lists to know that we are NOT out of control! Our biggest problem is that I show most everything that owns us, so that gets a bit expensive!

We are currently owned by:
*Approximately 70 chickens (silkies, polish, cochins and brahmas
*12 ducks (muscovies)
*6 Turkeys (2 whites, 2 bourbon reds and 2 nargonset)
*7 holland lops
*6 dogs (2 english bulldogs, 1 miniature poodle, 1 german shorthaired pointer, 1 australian shepherd and 1 shihtzu) All Indoors
*4 indoor cats (2 himilayans and 2 persians)
*4 70 gallon fish tanks
*2000 gallon outdoor pond
*5 goats (2 boers, 1 pygmy, 2 lamanche)

And 2 human babies who will be 1 and 2 in June. I think thats everyone. I hope?!?
