Any ouija board stories?

When I was a young girl, in my early teens, the ouija board was popular, especially at pajama parties. I wanted one badly, and my parents bought me one. I sat on my bedroom floor one day, and alone, asked it a question (can't remember the question). The thing responded and I got the scariest, most dreadful feelings in my life. I promptly threw the board back in the box and shoved it in a drawer. I couldn't even stand it being in the drawer, so I snuck it out with the trash so Mom and Dad wouldn't know.

I definitely feel that I was contacting something evil......a spirit or something...I'll never be sure. I bet every hair on my body stood straight up.....Chills up and down my spine.

I watch alot of those "Haunted" television shows, and they say calling to spirits with a ouiji board is BAD mojo.....I'll never own one again.....

Call me silly if you will.......

Ditto. Don't mess with things we don't understand.
That said, I don't believe ouija boards even work.

This topic piqued my interest and so I did a bit of research. I have very limited experience with an actual ouija board, as my mom never allowed us to use them. Honestly, I haven't had very much experience with ghosts or other things that go bump in the night (except for real things like bears, raccoons, and coyotes!) so I probably would try one out again. However, my mom was very much against them and so that holds me back just a little. People are very, very good at scaring themselves, and that is basically the explanation for the ouija board stories. (Don't get me wrong, I AM a believer in the paranormal. I am just also very, very skeptical!)

This was one website I thought that was interesting. A lot of others had similar information. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1798/how-does-a-ouija-board-work

Apparently
you can make your own if you really wanted to try. I'm sure you could find directions on google and you can just use a piece of computer paper or cardboard.

Interestingly, studies that have been done have found that when you blindfold a person and have them ask the board a question, the answers (written down by someone NOT blindfolded) are usually unintelligable.

There are quite a few religions who work in the Occult and it is not evil. Just because we don't understand something does not automatically mean it evil.

My only experience with a Ouija board was when I was with my first wife. When any woman asked it a question it answered. I don't recall if it was an accurate answer, but it did answer. When a man tried the board would immediately just run the planchette off the edge. I am of the opinion that Ouija is a sexist.

If you want to buy one Google "ouija board purchase".

You can supposedly make them! I tried it once with a friend but it was really slow and was just nonsense.

I would NEVER do it in my house... just because I don't want it getting haunted or whatever.. if thats even possible from just playing it. A couple years ago I had a birthday with a few friends in a hotel.. My cousin had a ouija board so she brought it with. We played with it for about an hour, I was seriously scared to death because I had never used one before. At one point I believe my finger and my cousins finger was on the cursor/moving thing and we asked what one of my friend's grandma's name was. My cousin and I had no idea, and the board got it right! It was creepy.. And I remember we were always so paranoid to only ask GOOD questions and ask if there were any GOOD spirits willing to talk, and if they said no, we automatically said 'Goodbye'.. I think it even says on the box there are certain questions you should not ask it.

I'm not exactly sure if these things are real or not (because why would they sell them in walmart?

).. I did research on them afterwards and found that it actually has to do with subconscious thoughts and movements.. but I don't know if I believe that either.

They are creepy though..

x3

I do believe they work. Demons are real, and when people use ouija boards (and a list of other things) they are contacting demons. Stay away from them.

They make good firewood.

I had one as a kid.
All of us kids in the neighborhood tried it and decided it was broken.
