The 7 racoons I used the Gamo on last summer were mostly between the eyes as they were in a live trap and wanted to face me, skull is thick there but it did the job. As someone said earlier though the only way to make the 1300fps unit accurate is heavy pellets to keep them slow, even at that I am not impressed, in my youth I had a OLD Winchester break barrel .177 with iron sights I found to be far more accurate.
If shooting a free animal heart/lung is usually the more responsible shot to take.
