Any tips on how to kill a coyote in a residential neighborhood?

I called them and they charge a pretty hefty fee and with the vet bills I have gained with both cats now I am already pretty far in the hole. He told me to call the city of east bethel and see what they want me to do or what not. Let the games begin!

Walmart has a crosman titan GP pellet rifle that shoots .22 cal pellets up to 950 fps and has reduced recoil and 70%less noise comes with a scope. $149 GREAT GUN give it a try. I love mine!!

I've used a 22 in city limits where I knew it was illegal. I only advocate it IF you have a clean shot and you shoot sure and straight. Just as many times, I backed off shooting when it wasn't a clean shot. I took no chances of hitting anything but the target. I also took only one shot which was all I needed.

I also agree that a Crossman pellet gun will make less noise and if shot in the head will do the trick. Rat shot in a 22 will also be less dangerous and probably effective, in that, it won't come back.

DNR = Department of Natural Resources. OP - I would have reservations about shooting a .22 in town. I realize you'd be shooting in a wooded area, but those things will still travel if you miss your target. Although, you're probably a better shot than I am, so it may not be an issue. But still, accidents happen. I guess I'm just leery about anyone shooting firearms in town where something could go wrong. I'm not anti-gun or anti-getting rid of a mangy coyote and putting the thing out of its misery. Just anti-taking chances, I guess. I hope you can find a way to kill it humanely and safely.

The first time I ever shot a gun I was 12 years old and my dad handed me a hunting rifle, he hid a pop can in the woods somewhere and told me to blow a hole thru it... I only saw the area he put the pop can not the actual can. I shot at the general location and nailed the pop can right thru the middle. I am a heck of a good shot! I do have reservations about shooting in this area because of the critters and children however the kids would be in bed by the time I went hunting and I would make darn sure the neighbors were aware of what was going to take place and be ok with me doing that seeing as the wooded area across the street is their land..... I thank you all for your responses and great ideas, I will try anything to avoid having to kill this thing myself without possible injuries to any other critter or human being but I stand by my decision if all else fails.

Dadsdeercamp thanks for the pellet gun idea, that was something dh and I had been thinking about to take care of the tree rats around here.

Redhen U crack me up woman! I can just hear the benny hill theme song playing as I try to wrangle a yote! LOL

ETA I have tried everything short of pounding it into the neighbors heads this thing is dangerous but you know the saying "ya can't fix stupid"....

I hope I didn't offend you - that wasn't my intent. I just get kinda nervous when I read responses from people who don't have a clue and think that getting a gun and shooting is the only solution. As previously stated, I'm not anti-gun or anti-hunting. I own guns and I hunt. But I'm of the mind to never trust anyone else with a gun... (at least not anyone outside my faimly - I know how much they know)

Use a 22 HP ammunition and go on the internet and download(You can find it for free) a cottontail rabbit distress call and play it on speakers load outside at dusk or dawn. Make sure you hide the speakers under a bush and yourself and wait you might have to do it a couple of time before the coyote respondes. But if he is in hearing distance you will get him, just remember to look behind the coyote at the possible path of the bullet after it goes through animal.

I was thinking along the lines as beekiss. The crossbow is deadly and shoots like a rifle. You can get scope for um too. But the .22 pellet rile sounds good. But I like to use my .300 Win mag. I can get 10 standing side by side.
