Any writers out there????

I am a writer. It doesn't come easy to me and I am the typo queen, but I have a column on Examiner.com.

Hubby is a REAL writer. Writes for the Examiner as well as for a newspaper. It comes naturally to him but I have to struggle over every word :p

Hi Jajika.

I have a file somewhere of my poetry, I will find it and put it online somewhere, but please read some of the pieces on here.

Writer of Words has a special gift, especially about Nugget.

Loads of others too. They can send you to their posts that have had everyone entranced.

Too many to list really.

Some amazing people on here and great gifts.

Jena.

I don't get to write as often as I used to-- having two small boys...

I read rjv_piper's short story on her Web site.

I was really good....I was "there" with her out on the property on a warm, peaceful day.

Very nice. I wanted to feel more of what she told me she was feeling. I could see her and get the sense of relief being away from it all.

I just wanted to know what the sun felt like to her as she told me she liked the sun...

She has great descriptive qualities and I identified with her because she shared her feelings in a way I understood.

Which "Examiner" are you talking about? There are several Examiner newspapers all over the U.S. now. They sprung from the original San Francisco Examiner owned by the Hearst Corp. f

We have the San Francisco Examiner still, but hardly the same paper it once was.

As you write a column, I would not dismiss your writing so quickly.

Love to see your column?

I could not stop reading the summaries in each of your books!

You have such range. It appears as though some are for young readers and then others are more mystery/adult.

These books take a long time to create, so you must have been writing for several years. Or, you are amazingly prolific and I hate you for it. (You know what I mean.)

Everyone, you must go to her Lulu Web site and check these out. If all your writing is as good as the summaries, you are one good and gifted writer.

Writing is not all about publishing. In fact, I think writing itself is more important than just being published.

In todays publishing industry, it is not necessarily a mark against one for not landing a commercial publisher.

Publishing has become so expensive and the industry has lost so much money, that the books they publish today are only from big names. It leaves out the really good writers who are not connected.

Joining a writers club, hanging with writers creates the writing world and that alone is truly satisfying.

Two things:

I love hearing about everyone's writing because I learn so much. Also, because I love being a part of this group we have started. I look forward to seeing a ping in my E-mail about "us."

I got to see actual work from two people and it is wonderful. Is there a way we can actually share our work? Like a functional URL? A paste of something we wrote.

It was difficult to actually find some places as I wasn't sure where to look?

Second thing: My stuff...

I have just published my first book....hence the spottiness of my presence on this board. My life was taken over by Palgrave-Macmillan.

To make it easy for everyone, if you go to my Web site.

www.gerispieler.com you will see more than you ever wanted to know...

It was a miserable ride...I'm not sure I ever want to publish a book again. It took all the joy out of writing.

Am I lucky I snuck in under the publishing industry crash? Yes. Will I ever get the opportunity to publish a book again even if I want to? Probably not.

Don't go away, please

Geri
