Well, last night was day 8 for my EE eggs and day 3 for the rouen and pekin eggs. It was also day 1 for the welsh harlequin eggs. I candled last night to see how everyone was doings and here are the updates.
EE eggs... out of the 11 remaining eggs, 10 had a lot of movement. The last egg (number 12) looks like a quiter. It looks like it has a possible bloodring, but I'm going to give it a couple days to see what happens.
Pekin and Rouen eggs... well... I think that duck eggs must develop slower than chicken eggs. Anyways, the 3 rouen eggs had visible spots on the yolks, which I'm thinking are embryos. The pekin eggs looked like they might have a spot on the yolk, but it was hard to tell. I'm going to check them again tonight, as well as the chicken eggs.
It's been awesome to be able to keep track of the growth of my eggs and I love seeing the embryos "swimming" around in their eggs. It's so neat!!
Justme: That is odd. Perhaps moving the eggs will help. I wonder why this happened? Any clue as to why only one side was affected?
Taraann: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Good luck.
chickenlittle and aBRG2far: Welcome and good luck. This is my first hatch as well and it's been pretty amazing to be able to see everything happening.
Fluffy: How cool is that!!! I hope mine do that. I'm sure you'll be able to find them homes. If not, to you have a shed or something you can keep them in with a heat lamp? Good luck and keep us up to speed on the hatch.
