i bought me a turner today. should help me out a lot. i will still check them out. everyday. this is like doing drugs. it's addictive. i candled mine and looks like i might have 5 eggs i don't know about yet. it's just day 4. all 4 of my EE's look good and all 7 of my bantam's look ok. the rest is RIR's and Australorps and Brahmas and Barred Rock. 25 eggs in all.

We are hatching March 20th. Candled today got 24 out of 26 with good veining. We are on our way!

I candled yesterday, I think I hijacked another one of your posts soccer mom. I had 34, down to 20. I lost 8 buff silkies I cracked open and none looked fertilized, 4 partridge silkies they were fertilized but quitters or maybe shaken, 1 rosecomb had a bloodring and one Colombian Rock wasn't fertilized (I thought it was a bad pen to begin with).
The 20 I had were so very active, one just kept pressing up against the shell, like it was looking at us!

I just set 36 more in there today, We will see if any of those work. Mostly New Hampshire Red Bantams.

I have a hatch on the 19th. Blue Andalusian and Dominique bantams and silver laced wyandottes on the 22nd.

Candled two of the dozen last night - looking good. Just picked up another rooster yesterday from a neighbor to replace our previous one that was attacked -if we end up w/12 roos I guess this vegetarian is learning how to process!!

I very very quickly put 5 of my 35 eggs over the flashlight last night. I was nervous about having them out so I was very quick about it. One looked pretty clear, but it also had the 'pore' look to it. the other 4 all had a little floating mass, with a dark spot, and one of them had definate dark veins. Is the dark spot an eye?? Help me out here! LOL At this point I'm just happy my first incubation won't be a total wash!!
