Anybody has experience with idealpoultry.com ?

Ive ordered 3 runners from ideal before only complant was that one was crested I don't like crested birds I also noticed they upped their price was $25 of poultry now its $30

Awww thank you! I could not believe it was not taken LOL! I was so excited. My friends and family think I have gone off the deep end with my duck obsession. That is all I want to talk about these days. They did this or they did that and how adorable it was, etc..... Oh well there are worse hobbies, right? And they are not only providing eggs but entertainment as well. Ha!:love

That’s what is so nice about BYC we all can enjoy the obsession since we all have it:D

EXACTLY!!! Thank goodness we have each other!

As if i am not already confused enough! :barnie
My (current) spreadsheet states:
  • 5 Indian Runners, 2 boys 3 girls
  • 5 Golden/White Layer Hybrids, all girls
  • 5 Magpie Ducks 1 boy 4 girls
  • 5 Buff Orpington, 1 boy 4 girls
  • 5 Ancona Ducks, all girls
Makes a total of 25 Duckies, 21 girls, four boys, ratio 1:5.25, all light/medium breeds

I'm not the the quickest rooster in the coop, but I only see *15* ducks??
Chickens (10 total):
  • 5 Golden/White Layer Hybrids, all girls
  • 5 Buff Orpington, 1 boy 4 girls
Ducks (15 total):
  • 5 Indian Runners, 2 boys 3 girls
  • 5 Magpie Ducks 1 boy 4 girls
  • 5 Ancona Ducks, all girls

He's looking at the gold/white layer and buff orpington ducks - not the chickens! I can see where that may cause confusion - I just realized recently that some chickens/ducks share names.

OK, then all I can suggest is that somehow the entries in the backend database got the BO(d) and BO(c) mixed up or entered incorrectly. Imagine some poor sap gets a new job doing data entry... BO is BO as far as I know. Or shopping cart validator is doing a db search by keyword and grabbing the first entry - i.e. 'Buff Orpington' with a tag of 'Chicken' precedes 'Buff Oprington' with 'Duck' tag. Poor DB design and minimal QA.:old

Would be interesting to see if a BO(d) purchase returns (d)uck or (c)hicken in the mail.

Nope! All Ducks. There is a Buff Orpington Duck breed as well as Golden and White Hybrid Layer Ducks from Metzer. No chickens allowed here! Wifie says they are too noisy…

Metzer. I’ve gotten all mine from there. They also guarantee them. If any die when they are delivered you just call them and they will send more. You can order just 2if you want. They are in Cali I believe and I’m in Michigan. 2 days later mine where here. They have all kinds of ducks. They show you when they are born and what day you will get them. They also have all kinds of birds not just ducks.
