Anybody have Oscars?

I finally got some Oscars! I had a completely empty tank that was calling me. What has been your experience with them?

They will eat anything smaller than them

Besides a large algae eater, they are the only fish in the tank. I got one regular and one albino.

I had one many years ago. He had a 29 gallon tank to himself. He was cool and huge! Lots of personality, for a fish.

Oscars are awesome fish. They need lots of room and can become super tame. I trained mine to jump up out of the water for treats(make sure your tank has a lid for times you arent there before you teach them this trick) and one of mine enjoyed being petted on the head. They always get excited to see me coming into the room. I especially love the "snowflake" colored ones that are white with black.

I grew up in panama and the canal was full of them... they taste GREAT!!!
