How is everyone doing?
I just attempted to candle and it looks to my VERY untrained eye that I have 7 out of 8 developing!

That's great 7/8. The one you are unsure keep untill next candling just incase, they can be sneaky!!
I'm on day 6 but going to candle later as most of them are polish so I will be able to see any development with their white shells. Ooh I'm excited can't wait to see how many I have got growing.

Will post my results later :fl

This is a GLW Roo X Amberlink hen had to incubate as many eggs as possible after my roo was killed. The other chick that hatched before this one is glw and a red sex link hen.
Ok because my younger son really wants a baby chick that's yellow! Lol. That's all he keeps talking about! I'm doing white silkies now & bcm next, I gotta figure out how to get one little yellow guy! ;)

Congrats!! That is awesome!! I've got 3/7 on shipped eggs. I'm leaving them in untill at least day 14. I read this really great article, mostly beginner stuff, but it was saying as long as they don't smell you can leave them in untill lockdown. I thought that was cool because I don't want to give up hope!!! Here's a link. I thought it was well written with lots of good details...http://fluffybottomsfarm.blogspot.com/p/incubating-and-hatching-eggs_9.html?m=1

I'm a little behind everyone and set on Monday.... but I candled several last night and it looks like my hatching eggs all have veining! I have 30 of them.
I also have 3 barnyard mixes in there from my parent's chickens, but it looks like they aren't developing. They've had doubts about their rooster's ability to mate, and it looks like he's shooting blanks... or not shooting at all.

That is awesome! I just hatched 12/13 shipped light brahma eggs. I'm ecstatic. 1 never developed and I didn't lose another. I'd been losing about 50% around lockdown, and now I think my humidity was too high. I stagger hatches- I have two turning incubators and 1 for lockdown. I laid down my biggest lockdown ever last night-37 eggs. Lavender Orpington, Barnevelder, Gold Copper Maran, Splash Maran, and pure Ameraucana. Fingers crossed.

Have just candled my eggs. I have 2 infertile polish eggs. So down to 25 now. The 4 polish x Amber eggs are all growing well though. And 21 polish looking good too :yesss:

Addiction fixed for now  Waiting now for day 14 and I'm sure it will take forever to come round :pop

Whoops, I'm a moron, I thought I was posting in the April Hatchalong. Here is my update for the weekend of 4/25 set: A couple of the Polish were cracked and one broken. I tried candle wax. I don't see anything going on in those, but not giving up hope just yet. It's basically impossible to see anything in the BCM eggs, so I'm hoping for the best.
