Anybody use Swiffer products in their house?

Are Venetians the vertical ones? And plastic or cloth, I've seen both of those kinds.

The plastic wasn't so bad, because it's thicker than your average mini-blind and can stand up to a soapy cloth scrub. Up down up and then go back with a clean one for a rinse. I'm not sure how people handle the cloth ones, can those be thrown in the washer?

Our house came with mini (horizontal) blinds all over the place and the things are a PAIN. If they were stouter (and each was more than 1" from each other) I could do the above washing idea, but they're so dern flimsy, and so crammed, and all those strings... I can't just toss mine, belong to the landlord, but derned if I haven't considered it.

Oh dear, you are in a bind with the darn mini blinds aren't you?! I too HATE them with a passion, my last house had them on every window. Never again!! Anyway, does this lady, or you, have a little canister vac with brush attachement's? It would help if you could give each blind a good vac to get most of the dust off then maybe go over with a swiffer duster with some Pledge or whatever sprayed on it? This is how I used to clean mine without taking them down. Dust was gone and they were left nice and shiny. Best of luck, that would just about make me want to walk off the job!

I did go back to just curtains that can be opened up during the day and the roll up shades in the bedroom. Almost all of the people that I clean for which are very affluent don't cover their windows at all. So I guess it's "get a good look"! I'm just a little too paranoid for that!

I am trying as much as possible to get away from disposable cleaning products. The landfills are full enough. Instead of swiffers, I have two cotton pads that fit onto a plastic handle to dust with. Something about them - I'm not sure what - attracts dust like other. They are machine washable. Been using and washing the same two pads for four years now. They still work great. I know they make the same type of thing with "fingers" for mini-blinds, but I just use the hose and some bleach cleaner on my mini-blinds.
I refuse to use the swiffer floor mopping pads either. Until such time as I can no longer haul a bucket full of soapy water, I will continue to use an old fashioned mop.

Ms Hooligans...do it! I use the little mini swiffer for blinds, ceiling fans, inside light fixtures like on the ceiling fans...I do not even have to take the bulbs out...you can use a little endust on it for tough jobs. I love them!

your supposed to dust them??? I thought the cat crawling up there did that.
