Anyone come across this?

Thanks @The Moonshiner,I really just want to understand how this works. I know recessive white and dominant white are two different things.Do you have any materials that you could recommend I read to explain it better? I did study genetics in college but that’s many, many years ago.😊

Where does the dominant white come from? When I read up on red sex links they primarily talk about white rocks or Rhode Island Whites?
IDK. I've heard the same but I suspect they're like Cornish cross and hatcheries have their own lines with their own genetics that produce reliable sexable chicks as well as genetics for the egg production they have.

Na. I don't read much so I don't know any good resources.
Just post questions you have in the Exhibition, Genetics, & Breeding to the SOP section and you'll get answers.
Thank you! I really do want to understand the differences. I appreciate your help and your time in answering my questions.😊

If they were dominant white though wouldn’t it be a mostly white bird with either red or black flex like with an australorp?
It’s all about the genetics the chicken has other than dominant white. With red sex links, I believe the mothers have both silver columbian and dominant white. However, a lot of hatchery leghorns have dominant white and something different (I think it’s black?).

Rhode Island Whites are apparently dominant white. According to Wikipedia though. Though I have had worse sources when gleaning obscure info:rolleyes:.
Most likely due to their Leghorn ancestry.
