Anyone do a skin biopsy on their duck?

Lots of people use it with good results. If you haven't already noticed problems, it's probably okay. I would just make sure it's on the base of your floor and not sprinkled throughout the straw, or whatever they lay on.

Well, that does it for me. If you think the PDZ is creepy I'm definitely not using it anymore. Not sure what to do with it. Only used about 2 cups out of the whole bag.
PDZ is fine....many people use it.
It is the mineral zeolite.
My poop boards are covered with it, have been for 5 years.
But I have chickens not sure why it would be fine for them and 'creepy'(toxic?) to ducks.

But I also understand seeking to find the cause of these ducks skin issues.
PDZ could be drying to the skin, but there'd have to be a lot of it applied I would think.

I guess we never really know how things will affect us and I would imagine animals and birds would be the same. Some humans are allergic to some strange stuff and others are allergic to just about everything or nothing. It changes in humans as we age too. Some people are allergic to poison ivy when they get older that never were when they were young and vise versa.

I think at this point it’s just trying what it maybe since so far even the vet hasn’t been able to help. So taking away the PDZ might not even be the culprit but might as way give it a go. Right?

@Miss Lydia Exactly. I'm not even sure how long it would take to see an improvement in her skin after being exposed to it for four months. Still hoping it makes a difference!
