Anyone do Stained Glass?

I've just started doing stained glass. I'm still learning about it, but it's something I've always wanted to try. My husband says that its an outlet for my creativity since the bottom has dropped out of the western show shirt market which I did until this fall.

Luna, of course you can copy the hen. I might still have her pattern somewhere I'll dig around and I'll let you know.

Yes, I used a pattern made from heavy paper to cut my glass out with. I found the hen in one of the kids old coloring books of farm animals and used that as my pattern.

What a great idea! I have used coloring books for quilt applique patterns but never thought of using them for stained glass. Which is kind of dumb on my part....as I have used my glass patterns for quilting projects. duh

I love doing stained glass! I have so little time though. I started a piece that was to benefit "Mastiff Rescue" and couldn't get it finished so I donated a personal piece that I just loved!

TOH:I too would love that beautiful hen pattern.

I did a really crazy beautiful rooster for my sister years ago and she has no idea where it is! (We both suspect my sister in law gave it to her sister)

IF anyone has the time I would love to send you my dog logo, and have someone do it for me? or one of the main dogs here in the kennel, or maybe a few of them together??
Anyone have time?

I found my hen pattern, if anyone wants a copy PM me your addy and I'll send one out to you.

I used to do stained glass back when I had the time for crafting of all sorts. I started with a continuing ed class held at the local high school.

The most fun things I made were Christmas ornaments in the quilt pattern of 8-point stars- like a lone star and just leave them without borders. They come out really well, and use up scraps of glass that would otherwise just be trash. I made 1/2 inch diamonds.
