Tonight starts day 20 and nothing yet

We candled some of the eggs last night. I don't have a very strong flashlight, and the shells are pretty dark. We only saw two that looked like nothing there. The others had a very large dark area with very large air spaces on the top of the egg. PRobably about half of the egg was air, the rest a solid mass. But I could not make out any movement or veining. SO I am understandly anxious. I did not detect any movement, cheeping, or anything else... we shall see when I get home tonight.

Wish us luck...

Great on the others who have babies!

The one that pipped last night just hatched!!!!! No problems. I saw it completing the zip, then it just popped out! It rested for a few minutes and now is going around the incubator chirping up a storm and bumping eggs. It's so big, it's hard to believe it fit in that egg.

I have a handful more of pips, so I think there will be more action tonight. I get pictures too. For now...I won't be home, so I hope I don't miss anything.

govega,

I wouldn't be candling the eggs, the bator is not supposed to be opened after day 18. Yours could be a little behind everyone else's...I think it all relates to the temp during the incubation.

Hey It's nice to hear everyones good news!! I've been at the college all day taking finals, so I don't know what mine are up to.
Sounds like arabookworm is going to have a good hatch rate.
