Anyone else ACTUALLY chill with their peeps?

Yay, it's not just me! I was beginning to be concerned for my sanity.

Spending time in the yard with my girls, like so many of you have said, is like my "therapy". Whenever I open my back door to go out onto my back patio, the girls come flappin' and runnin' from hither and yon to see if I brought them any treats, as soon as they hear the door. I try really hard not to disappoint them too terribly often and try to bring them out at least 2 treats a day, usually a protein treat (scrambled/hardboiled egg) in the morning and a cool fruity treat like melon or peaches or grapes in the afternoon. If it's not too terribly hot in the afternoon, I'll skip the afternoon treat. There are plenty of bugs and other goodies around the yard they can have for treats!

We can't go out there and eat unless we plan to share, though. The girls have no problem jumping up and taking it from us! It's hilarious!

cool topic

I free range my chicks now and they are the ones that hang with me in the yard wherever i go and sit.

But the first days when i had them locked, i visited them with my wife, and we was hanging in the "run", i looked for a place to sit and i sat on their silly cheap built chicken house, the next thing that happen was IT BROKE TO THE GROUND and i just started laughing ashamed because my wife was laughing at me too (what else could i do).
Thank god no chickens was in the chicken house at that time!

I will keep in mind the chair thing when i rebuild my chicken coop to be able to hang out with them safely and comfy like you people do.

and here we are taking a "glamor shot" ...we are so chilled out that she fell asleep

after that last picture she snoozed on my pillow for an hour before i coaxed her out to the coop...she wanted to stay IN all night

i also often sit outside in a lounge chair beside the run and the other night i camped out in a tent beside the coop just to make the new cochin chicks feel safe.... i think that about says it for my "Chilling" "i might have just pushed it to living with the chicks/peeps with the camping out....

sorry for taking up so much space in your topic....but just wanted to let you know....you're not the only one who Chills with their peeps and some (like me) are excentric with it

Of course...I sit out on my porch swing daily and read...usually I have three swinging companions...a delaware hen, a BO hen and a NHR hen...they love to swing! I also sit out with them everyday giving out back pats, chest rubs and hugs.

Isn't it normal to chill with your peeps?
