I tend to get like this around this time of year. I find Christmas very stressful. You are right, Christmas isn't suppose to be like this. I've never experienced it differently. I do however find joy during most of the rest of the year. I don't mean to be a bummer... I'll be back to normal in a few days.

I know this time of year can be hard on some people. For their own personal reasons. I wish i could help you feel better...i truly do. You have my best wishes in everything. Take Care..

back to you. When you said my post made you sad, it made me go look up the happiness thread in rambling and actually think about what I'm happy for. Thank you.

Will Rogers said , "A mans about as happy as he makes up his mind to be". Ya know there are some who have decided to be miserable no matter what. Thing is they want everyone else to be miserable too and that is sad.

We used to sing a song in church.

Count your blessings count them one by one.
Count your blessings see what God has done.
Count your blessings, count your blessings,
count your blessings, count them one by one.

ITs funny. My dad has been very ill this year leaving my parents no time to shop. My brother has been half way across the country for the past 9 months. My DH lost his job, I am in school and have little time to do school work, work, be a mom AND do presents, yet I usually manage to do the best job. With all going on, I didn't expect a lot of gifts. Infact, I KNEW all I was getting if anything was money, a box of pistol shells, and maybe 1 other thing (a book). So I certainly was in no hurry for presents. YET, I WAS hatching my first hatch today, my brother came home 4 days ago, my dad isn't in the hospt anymore, my grandmother with alzheimers was spending the night, and I think I got DS some gifts he's LOVE this year. So I've never been a kid to get up early with anticipation...yet this morning I was up at 4:30. And I got exactly what I expected, but with everyone here and the chicks and the sleet outside etc, a lot of memories were made and a good many laughs were had. Maybe more than ever before. So even though it was probably the lousiest christmas ever for MY gifts, I think it's one of the happiest most fun, and most anticipated Christmas's I've EVER had! And I hope it's like this always! :-D
Merry Christmas!!!

When you are unhappy the Devil wears a grin
But oh he starts to running when the light comes pouring in
I know he'll be unhappy cause I'll never wear a frown
Maybe if we keep on smiling he'll get tired of hanging round

If I forget to say my prayers the Devil wears a grin
But he feels so awful awful when he sees me on my knees
So if your full of trouble and you never seem to win
Just open up your heart and let the son shine in

So let the son shine in face it with a grin
Smilers never lose and frowners never win
So let the son shine in face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the son shine in.

The best Christmases my husband, two daughters and I have are always the ones where we have searched out the opportunities to bring joy to those who have very little.....ask God to bring people across your path that need a blessing. He will do it, and you will be the one who is truly blessed.

And as many people have already said here......have no expectations.....except of pleasing the Lord, and you will never be disappointed.

I am so sorry you lost your Andrew. I know William has added a special light to your family and I'm sure you thank God everyday. NOTHING will make you forget about Andrew and you will never want to. He was a fleeting gift.
God Bless

I can semi-understand. My (older) brother died of SIDS. I never met him personally, but my mother visits his grave every christmas/easter/birthday. We're getting a new plaque this year with my name on it as well :) I think the visit was the nicest part of my christmas, and the saddest.
