Anyone else ever hear of this?

I understand the sentiment, it's a law here too that you must have a light which makes perfect sense. If you are pulled over the officer must be able to read your plate from their vehicle to call it in. No officer wants to pull over a vehicle, can't read a plate, get out and get shot because it's a stolen vehicle.

On the ball hitch, I have one too, plus my dropped receiver hitch. If my ball hitch isn't in use or I don't expect to use it I remove it to make my license plate viewable. If my truck is stolen, I want everyone and God to be able to see that plate asap! It's a bit of a pain to remove it, but I respect the law, and I respect the safety of the officer who needs to clearly see that license plate from the safety of their vehicle.

Haven't heard that one, but got pulled over a few weeks ago by a state boy that passed me flying and I was just watching him (two lane highway) and wondering where the fire/accident was, because he was going 80 miles an hour. I wasn't even paying any attention to what I was doing, dumb mistake, but he pulls me over in a small town I was passing through and asked me if I realized I was going 71. I said 'well, that's funny, because I wasn't even paying attention to myself, I was wondering where you were going in such a hurry, because you had to be doing over 80"

I was very respectful, but I do have a tendancy to get my point across too, especially since he passed me, and then almost admitted he set me up. He took a step back, and I thought I had really went and done it this time,

but he just took all my stuff, and went back to his car. I was A-ok, but he told me, "Next time, Maam, just because WE speed, doesn't mean you have too!" Point taken.

I have a "toy" truck with a receiver that sticks out to put a bike rack on. If I have it on I get hassled all the time....

If I left the bikes attached then it is no problem...

I'm with you on this one. We have a bike rack that attatches to the hitch as well as a ball that we have for pulling a boat. We do remove them when not in use which is a hassle, but I understand that my license plate needs to be clearly visible.
