Anyone else feel like this?

Yes! That's where all this ultimately leads I think. I haven't purchased meat at a store in at least 3 years. I have neighbors that raise lamb, pork, and beef and our family buys them by the whole or half and we sell chickens and turkeys to those same people. Buying a piece of boneless skinless meat on a styrofoam tray is completely foreign and unappetizing to me anymore. It's about community too. Keeping the money close and cycling it within the community builds up your neighbors, friends, and your general area in a way that buying from the big box stores is incapable of.
Well said!

It’s not even worth your words tbh. People like that aren't likely to change their minds. And besides, I feel like they might be a troll anyway. We all know you are doing a good thing. :hugs
Appreciate the back up. I don't mind explaining myself a bit though. She asked specific questions that maybe other people have so I just answer truthfully and move on.

Thanks neighbor. I appreciate you. :highfive:

That makes sense! Maybe it will prevent others from asking the same things.

And no problem! :D :love

I hope I can get meat birds eventually too but that’s a long way out haha

Amazing! You're an inspiration!
Thank you! It was my way of life growing up, didnt really know much different. Society as a whole has gotten away from the family farm and what they produce. It's sad really! We even buy our milk from a dairy farm about 7miles from us. They sell it out of a shed... and it is AMAZING! Its pasteurized, not homogenized and the chocolate is beyond amazing! I am trying to talk them into selling our egg surplus... when we get to that point. People always talk about being organic.....PLEASE! LOL!

My husband thinks the Naked Necks are so ugly, he is OK with eating them . . . quail = too cute = never eating them here.
My husband's fine with butchering our naked necks as well -- not because they are ugly -- because they are full-sized. He doesn't like quail because he thinks they are too small to be worth the effort to butcher. Also doesn't want to fiddle with little quail eggs at breakfast.
