Hey if our house is neat that is an accomplishment. We are having our big dinner on Saturday, so Thursday will be spent baking and cleaning. We are having 12-15 people over and we don't own a couch

I have to say, expecting company does make for a thoroughly clean house several times a year

LOL... too true! We have 3-4 gatherings a month here, which forces me to clean. I really wonder what my house would look like if nobody ever came over.

It used to be that I would do major hours of cleaning the day BEFORE a T-giving or Christmas gathering, but then I'd be too sore and tired to enjoy the day.

We are having our T-giving on Sunday, so this week I'll do a little something every day, leaving the hardwood floor mopping until Saturday. The floors really speak 'clean' - most people don't notice a little dust on the shelves.​

My MIL is coming over for T-day. Neat freak is an understatement when speaking about her. In her eyes, I don't cook good enough, clean good enough, etc... so you can imagine how excited I am about having her over.

I am lucky enough to have a housecleaner and she is coming tomorrow!

I'll still have to go over things again before Thursday since my kids are little tornadoes and I have two dogs that leave hair everywhere!

You poor, poor people! You all have my sympathies. I will be sitting pretty, just me and my menagerie for Thanksgiving. My BF is going to his mother's and my family knows that I can't leave the farm unattended. If ever I begin to doubt the wisdom of taking on all these animals, I just remember the free pass I have on holidays and everything is rosey again! Best of luck with gatherings. I'll be drinking beer, eating whatever crap I want and watching zombie flicks.

I used to stress over the cobwebs and dust kitties but life is getting too short the older I get... so if you love me come visit me and take my house as it is...

no my throat hurts from the dust...

But it was needed.. I got behind the TV..

and up on the shelves..

and the top of the book case

the computer monitor.. I mean I look at the stupid thing every day and you wouldnt believe how much dust was around it. Then I looked up.. the cealing fans..

and then I had to dust the cealing.. where the cealing fan blew dust in a circle..

Getting to the kitchen next..

just taking a little break..



and while typing this my DH asked me to shave his back

I sold the family homestead (my grandparents place) I moved out to the woods in a cabin (loghome) thinking that now it was someone elses turn to be hostess. Apparently everyone wants to spend holidays at the cabin in the woods. That's okay...I love them.

Wife side of the family coming over all 42 of em... my idea!! What was I thinking

and thats her dads side in 4 weeks we have another 40 coming over from her mom's side for early christmas party!!!! I may go spend those days out in my shed working on my coop......
