I've got 3 eggs left under the broody. I had one hatch Friday night, one Saturday. I'm wondering if there is any hope for the last 3... No pips (I thought I felt a pip on one, but I was mistaken).

Geeze, I wish I had found this thread 3 weeks ago!

I have a black EE mutt and a grey/tan silkie mutt out so far! More than I had hoped for actually since I only had 5 eggs under her!

Now, can they please be hens?

Two Araucana out

I lost count on the Langshan chicks one hatched with its yoke last night and is still fighting the good fight. I see one last pip a Langshan! I am going to count this as a good hatch. Araucana are hard so two out of eight I think is wonderful. 4 out of 6 Pyncheons great. Langshan still have not a good count but a lot. All shipped eggs that took the post forever to get here so I am thankful!

I looked under my broody this morning, and we now have 3 chicks... 2 blue ones and one cream colored...only one left- not sure if it will hatch or not...

Hi Great pictures, did you know that the chicks need to be on paper towels or a towel, this way they can learn to walk and wont get splay legs?
Just thought Id let you know..
They are all so very cute.

I have 9 babies so far, two more pips. That would give me a 50% hatch rate. Of course, I am hoping for better than that, but would not be devastated with that for my first try. Maybe some more will hatch today and night. It is now day 22. They seem so small!!! I can't remember my hatchery chickens being this small. Will send more pictures when they finish.

I went to start getting everyone out of the bator and found another Araucana pipping

. So they are staying a little longer!

Well, since last night I have 25 little fluffy butts. I just helped 2 finish hatching. They are still in the bator drying off.

I had one to pip and die. ANother one that is trying to hatch. And 5 in the bator that are just sitting there with nothing going on.

If they do not hatch I think I still had a great hatch.

I got 13 chicks out of 21 eggs and it was my first time I think I did pretty good, I am so happy.
