anyone else hatching may 1st

Mine has finally started. A lot of them pipped last night late. I thought they had died today when they were just sitting there. I came in tonight and 2 were hatching. I hear them peeping now. I have not looked in the bator in the last 30 minutes because I will be tempted to get them out.

I will check to see how any more I have in a bit.

I was starting to worry last night that I had killed them all. This is my 5th hatch this year and I was no wanting to end on a bad one. But I do have another bator full of eggs beside the bator that is hatching now.

WIsh me good hatching vibes and many many many more chicks!!!

Sadly, yes. We made the decision as a family (dad, mom and I) to open the three eggs we had left. Two of the three had nothing but veins and a small spot (most likely heart) and the other was a little bit larger but all were dead...

We are really really bummed right now but not giving up. We have new eggs arriving in three weeks.

Oh I am SO SORRY to hear this. Maybe next time use more eggs? My thought was that if I kept the 'bator as full as possible then the temps and humidity would not fluctuate too much. Maybe do a trial run with some regular eggs from a local farmer who would not mind having the hatched chicks come back?

I feel so badly that my hatch turned out so well. And I thought I drowned all of them........

Baby chicks pics as promised!!!

Oh I am so sorry to hear that, but glad that you're not giving up. It looks like we're pretty close (I'm in Seattle), so maybe if we have some breeds that we're both interested in, we could go in on somethng together? Or something ...

I almost hate to tell you this, but one of mine hatched tonight proving that there IS hope. On the other hand, I started out with 12, and don't know if I'm going to get any more. So I guess the lesson is incubate way more than you thought you needed to.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! (Shouting, but in a gleeful way:lol:)

My first ever hatch, and one pipped overnight!!! A second egg is rocking back and forth every now and then.

I started with 8. One never had anything (I'm assuming it was infertile). 4 others never seemed to progress past a certain point early on. I have 3 that I'm hopeful will hatch!!!

Like I said, this is my first hatch. We started out with a LG and were turning the eggs ourselves. Then I HAD to buy more eggs... We bought a hovabator with an auto turner. Now I'm using the LG as my hatcher. I do have to say that I LIKE my LG better than the hova, at least at this point.

Good luck to all with your hatches! I'm sorry for those that didn't have a good hatch. This is such an emotional process, I had no idea.
