Hang in there AwallRooster, things could still turn out OK- I am thinking good thoughts for them and you, keep us updated!

Thanks CA,and we will, by the way, do you use a incubater to hatch eggs?

No, what a complement! Total newbie, have been experimenting with a feather duster and a125 watt bulb on my day olds... which has been working... I am hoping to get one broody hen out of my 19 chicks.... or willing to obtain a.. Silkie? (Or is it a Cochin that people use for broody hens?)-

I am thinking odds may be in your favor....Ideal is located right near you in Texas, I believe! Hopefully temps are down in your part of the country-- overall cool spell here....

Silkie and Cochin are used to be broodies. They are the most broody standard breed ever. If You have a Silkie-Cochin croos you are bound to have a broody for forever! (My Opinions.)

well we are in a heat wave warning here, :( and we live in north east Arkansas, hope all goes good with making a broody. Silkies are the best for sit hatching. :)
