Anyone Else in Love... (coffee related)

Come on Joe, if you are not going to put it to use, I will take it off your hands, that way Bob and I can have dual presses going.

French presses really are great. For me, I am more quality than quantity. I made a FP cozy to keep my second cup warm while I drink the first.

I am a bit of a coffee snob-was a barista for 8+ years and now I won't drink it unless it's really good.

Btw- Ikea sells a nice affordable FP!

I use a french press and love it. I've broken about 5 in the last 5 years and I have found that Ross stores (a kind of clearance type store with clothing and household items) often have a lot of high quality french presses for about 1/3 the price of other shops.

It's not that the french presses break easily, it's that I break things easily. I even broke one that was made out of supposedly unbreakable plastic. I should be a product tester.

I just got something cool, an insulated coffee mug made by Bodum that has a french press built right in. Dump a few tablespoons of coffee in it, add boiling water, press down the plunger, and go. it's great for morning where I'm running late. Mine was purchased online, but I have seen them at Target.

I also got an electric teakettle for christmas. Add water, press a button, and you've got boiling water a few minutes faster than on the stove. I like it because it has an auto shutoff if you forget about it, and also shuts off when you remove it form the base to pour, so no more getting to work and worrying that the stove is on.

Give me my CDM or Community Dark Roast with Chickory (Chicory)!! Now thats real coffee; not this tea looking stuff some pass off for coffee.

When I visited my boyfriend's father in France and Switzerland, I was surprised to see that they didn't use drip coffeemakers.

Upon returning to the States I bought a Bodum, used it for coffee and tea. Became lazy and started using the drip thingamabobs because it's easier (for me) and less trouble when I have company.

I must add that I went crazy trying to find the Bodum mugs on Ebay because I thought that they were unique!

I fill my electric kettle with water the night before. In the morning I push the button to start the water boiling. Go take a shower come back and water is hot. Pour boiling water over fresh ground Trader Joe's coffee beans and go get dressed while the coffee has brewed.

Love my Bodum stainless steel French Press that I bought in Ireland 2 years ago. And it has some dents when I have dropped it... So it is a good thing I did not buy a glass one. It was exxpensive but when you consider I should never have to buy another coffee pot in my lifetime it was cheap.
