anyone else order from Meyer? Pullets shipped Monday *UPDATE*

the chicks arrived early this morning. they are now safe in our brooder. all but one of the 25 seemed fine. that single chick is having trouble standing and flopping over. I hope she makes it. We helped her drink water and put her under the heat lamp but I'm worried she won't be okay.

thanks. I posted this separately but haven't gotten any responses yet (cause I just did it a few minutes ago), but just in case you know, any tips on helping the little chick who is flopping over? I helped her drink water, but had to leave her in the brooder with the other chicks.

I'm so glad to hear that your chicks arrived in mostly good shape, and sorry to hear about the weak one. I'm a first-time chicken mom myself, so I don't have any advice for you, just good wishes.

I ordered from Meyers and live 3 hours away. I chose to pay for express shipping with a tracking number and I also called every post office to let them know i was concerned. I recieved mine within 16 hours. My post officed called me at 4:eek:o am. Meyers have done what they are suppose to do, they rest is up to the post office. They should be here today...just hope that they are okay. I will keep my fingers crossed.

well, the one little chick didn't make it. she seemed to rally and was doing fine and running around to the point where I couldn't tell her from the others, but then, a few hours later, there was a dead chick in the brooder. I have to assume it was her. But who knows, could have been one of the other buff orpington babies.

so sad.
