Anyone else put eggs in incubator 9-30

Hi,

Can I join? I put in 15 Serama eggs on 9/30 I have 15 more coming in the mail tomorrow so I will add those Thursday. They were supposed to be here sooner but the persons hens started hiding the eggs from her and she thought they were not laying. I have a still air bator the temp is 100.2 and humidity 39-42 I will candle on Saturday. I hatched out 10 seramas 7 weeks ago 3 died the 1sst week, they were so small. I have 3 cockrels and 4 hens. I tried to hatch in between from 36 eggs 1 hatched and it had a bum leg and died. I read seramas are hard to hatch so I am jut hoping for a few from this hatch. I have also ordered some frizzled and silkie serama eggs for the week of Nov 7. Hopefully with all these eggs I will get a few more. My temp dropped to 99.3 last night with the house at 65 hubby will put it up to 68 tonight I wonder if I should put a towel over the top tonight just in case?

I would put the towel over it for extra insulation if the house temps are fluctuating.... I guess I'm nuts because I'm up all hours of the night and early morning checking mine (paranoid LOL) but so far mine have stayed between 99 and 100 for forced air....my humidity is still fluctuating a bit....just be sure and don't get them too hot if you do use the towel....Good Luck and Welcome.....keep us posted....and Hatch On!!!

Me! I put in 18 eggs! I really hope they hatch!!

Good luck with yours!

My temp dropped to 98.4 for a little bit today because the house is colder now. I might move it to a warmer room to see if that helps. Not worried about the eggs since I got it right back up again where it needed to be but for the fuure it might decrease my worry if I move them as it gets colder.

Sorry to hear that.

I candled the 1st 15 of mine I pulled 4 that were not developing and out of the 11 left I would say maybe 6 looked GREAT. Next Friday I will check them again and check the other 15 I put in this Friday.

I know the feeling....I didn't have shipped eggs...but out of 21 I have 10 left that are good......I added 10 more on the 7th.....so we will see....I think I screwed up because I didn't leave the plugs out of the bator....after the fact I read that you are supposed to do that because if you don't the carbon dioxide level will get too high and kill the embryo....I cracked the 10 eggs and what do you know 6 out of 10 had very small embryos in them (early quitters).....the other 4 were not fertile.....I candled them twice last night and could see no movement and bloodrings....so I decided to open them....the rest are moving around though and alot bigger embryos.....I wish you all the luck....keep us posted.....
