Anyone else see these ducks for adoption?

I looked at them and am seriously tempted. But I am new to ducks, and the ones I have are non-fliers so they will have a big pen and house, but the pen will not be covered. Could I keep flying ducks in this situation, just by trimming wings or something? Or would this be a bad idea? Are cats a problem for ducks this size?

Just wanted to say thanks for the original post. We actually made the drive and got two of those ducks. I have no idea if they're good representatives of the breed, but we think they're beautiful and love to watch them. They don't come to us like our other ducks, but hopefully that will change.

Oh, what a bummer! I drove from Sacramento to Hayward to get them and would have brought back more had I known, but maybe if she gets desperate to get rid of some she'd meet you partway. When we were there last Weds. I think there were still 16 in pretty small pen, and it was definitely a mix of male and female. Or maybe if mine hatch babies I'll know someone who will want one...

I sent her an email, my one son has wanted this breed of ducks forever, but since it was my other son's turn to pick, he chose call ducks.

My older son would be sooo thrilled. He even tries to teach our two extra male call ducks tricks!! (don't even ask)
