Well, I read this thread the other day, thinking "I have debilitating headaches, but their not migraines, so I don't really qualify". But today, I just had to add...
Mine have been labelled 'tension type headaches' and I've had a barbituate pain killer since 1999 to knock them out. I do many of the things you all mention here: hiding my head under a pillow, lots of caffeine&Ibuprofen&asprin, taking 2 days off from life....
At the dr. today, it was suggested they might be tension triggered migraines....I was given a sample of both Maxalt and Axert, so we'll see if either of them is helpful. I'm very hopeful that one will make a difference!!!
The bite-splint suggestion is intriguing, and one I might have to look into, too....
