Anyone had else had their Wal Mart downsized?

I shop at Walmart all the time. Unfortunately here in rural vermont our choices are limited. I could/would shop downtown if I was looking for let's say, some beads from Beadniks, a bong from the Underground, some hemp clothing from the hemp clothing store, or some very expensive (albiet not useful) blown glass from the Artisan's store, maybe I could pick up some wine at the Wine Cellar or get a tattoo. I could pay $20.00 for a pair of socks at the outdoor store. Do you get where I'm going with this? We need department stores where us working folk can afford to shop and that carries things we need. .

To me that is crazy , RICH , MIDDLE CLASS , OR POOR , does it matter where you shop as long as they can supply your needs . I guess some people have to say , Ohhhhhh , I PAID $500 for mine . Yea right , and mine cost 150.00 and identically the same thing ? NOW , who should be embarrassed ?

I shop Walmart for somethings, but when I can, I try to go to Farmer's markets and buy directly from the family owned farms. I also shop at a Mexican grocery store. Their prices on many things are cheaper than Wally World.

Where are you located ? I don't think our Walmarts carry large quanities of feed ... Oh they have the little stuff like for parrots , etc.

Don't know if your area has "Foodlion" or if that is a North Carolina store but they carry scratch feed also. They carry rabbit pellets too made out of alfalfa and I buy that occasionally for my chickens too.

A WM with FEED!??? We have ONE WM, which has forced 2 grocery stores, and numerous mom and pop shops to close.... They don't have ANYTHING!!! I went to WM to get a 40# bag of Pedigree dog food and they didn't have any in stock! I went ot WM to get yeast to make rolls for the holidays, and they didn't have any in stock. I went to - guess where - to get a gallon of milk for my kids, and guess what!!!

I absolutely HATE WM! I'm certainly not too proud to shop there...when they have what I'm looking for. What I HATE, is when you need something like paper towels which should be easy to find, and you stop to pick them up and it's OUT OF STOCK or they stopped carrying it, or when you do find what you are looking for, and you are made to stand in a line of 5 people waiting to check out at one of the three (out of 18) registers that are open...and the person in front of you has a price check on something that they are INSISTING is on sale but can't be bought with the gift card that they INSIST has $50 on it but only has $5.

Then you finally get to the register and the CSM comes over to switch the $ drawers out and can't get the drawer out, and while he is doing this - the cashiers switch places and all you wanted was a gallon of milk and a pack of yeast!!!!

Sorry - got started and couldn't stop!!

No, I do not shop at Wal-mart, and I do not spend money needlessly so I can say I paid $500 for it. Many times I go to Savers and buy used or I go to target. I know that some people cannot afford to go elsewhere but I can therefore I refuse to patronize a company that in my opinion outsources too many jobs.
I have a friend who worked in a wal-mart,and because she had too many hrs one month they put her picture up in the break room with a note that said this woman is taking money out of your pocket in an effort to embarrass her. She covered for someone who was sick and the next week refused to give up some of her hrs.

I hate walmart myself. My mom loves the place. I needed some dumor which walmart dont carry and she went to TSC to get a bag. well she saw the dog food and since the bags was a bit torn the guy gave it to her for half off. she started looking for more bags and ended up buying 5 unbroken bags lol! she said the prices are better at TSC with most things and she will continually shop at TSC for dog food. I am going to try and buy her that DVD I saw on the fist page of this thread.

Just wait until your local feed stores can't compete and go out of business. Walmart may one day decide since we sell 10 times the amount of corn compared to scratch we need to drop scratch to make room for corn.
