Very pretty! She looks so happy and fluffy! I am worried now that my chicks may come early if they have been rambunctious for so long. Maybe it is my evening entertainment on TV that has them going. I guess I'll find out sooner or later.

Thanks for the well wishes. Right back at ya! Suechick, that Buff Orp hen is so pretty. I think my oldest one had a stroke this morning or she got hit in the head. She was looking really bad and suddenly, snapped out of it. She was a fabulous broody, hatched two chicks and then wanted to adopt the 25 three-week-olds in the pen next to her and I let her. She was in heaven!

I just love chicken stories! This broody is named First. She was our first ever chick to hatch in our homemade incubator. She has gone on to be the first chicken at everything big and small. First to roost up high, first to jump a wall, first in the pecking order, first to lay an egg, first to go broody. We love her!

Hatch is due on Wed. 6th in my homemade Samplebator. I am so anxious. I have hatched several batches in a hovabator with a great hatch rate but this is the first for my homemade job.
If the hatch goes well, I have some adjustments to make. Already looking forward to the next hatch.

Ahh jeeze, I just realized I dont have a brooder ready. I have 9 juvies in mine. Looks like I'll be going to get another tote today...
