My first photo is really bad! Mrs Delmar heard that bright light will traumatize the chick, is that right?

This egg is from a barred rock and the dad should be a RIR so if I'm right it's a girl! I'll get better photos when I can.

Man I dont know what my deal is....... I have been having pretty good luck hatching.... but I put them in the brooder and I broke a light bulb..... glass shards were falling in my brooder with the chicks in it...

the light was a 100 watt bulb and it was getting a little hot for the chicks so I switched it out for a 65 watt flood. (I have 2 lights) the dang thing broke off at the base!!! so not too much glass but still......

did I hurt my chicks? I was scrambeling...

Nope, nope, nope on the food.....leave the chickie in there to dry a fluff up....they don't have to have food for a while. Go read up on that cause I can't tell you exactly.

Wonderful and exciting! Tell the Mrs to turn the lights on in the room and the flash off on the camera and try again to take a picture and see if that does it. I don't know about the flash in the chicks eyes and don't think it would be good for it but light in the room the bator is in is ok......

Waiting on Saturday for lockdown here.....crossing fingers and toes....sure makes it hard to walk.
