My nickname as a child was tadpole, because in the spring I was always carrying around a jar of frog eggs, watching them hatch. I guess the hatching addiction started at a young age! One of my uncles still calls me that.

I might have to give up soon or I might end up on my husbands naughty list for Christmas

How old do they usually start going broody?

I am interested to see what my silkie that just hatched will turn out looking like, mom was a buff silkie, and not sure on the dad, could have been my buff silkie roo or my golden laced bantom, should be interesting, lol.

I just set up 5 silkies that are broody and 2 iffy's in a dog crate and gave them each an eggs to make sure they are going to do the sit/stay.. as I have
two breeders sending me eggs. So I am set. Love when the broodies help me out.

I have had some go broody before they even start laying. At 5 months.

I have 2 ECO 20's. LOVE, love, LOVE them. I have never used any other kind, so I can't vouch for the others. The only complaint I have is when I overload it I can't find room for my humidity checker!

I have a turner too, but I don't use it, I just turn the whole unit by hand. I wish I had just bought another incubator instead of the turner. I got a Ecoglow for my birthday, I will be using it for the first time with these new babies. I can't wait to try it out.

That's what I wanted to get, but hubs has talked me into the RCom 20 because it comes with a humidity control, I got tired of debating with him and just gave in,

it only holds 20 eggs is the only thing I don't like, I will still have the LG though if I want to do more than that, lol.

Wow, do you know they are broody when they just stay on there nest most of the time?
