YAY!! So excited to see pics! Stinkin' computer! It's ruining my fun! =P I'll try to be patient.

So, some more sad news. I found another dead baby in her nest. He was about halfway out the egg and I think she squished him. :( On the bright side, I hear a lot of peeping from her nest still, so if she can stop squishing them she should have babies by morning!

Oh, I'm really sorry.

One thing you might try is giving her a bigger nest. That way she has more room to move, with out stepping on the eggs. Make sure if you do move her to do it in the dark, so she cant see. Just a suggestion.
Hope she has babies in the morning!
I'm gonna go check on Minnie's hatching chick soon, will let you know if there is any progress!

I've considered it. I just might do that. I've just been trying to figure out what I can use.

The little chick is doing fine, just a little concerned because, I went to go check on it under mommy, and it was stone cold! I picked it up and listened and it wasn't making any noise. I don't know what could have caused it to be cold, but its up in the bator just for a little while until it gets warmer.
Hoping some chicks hatch out for you and your broody in the morning LaynaDon95!

Poor guy. I wonder what is the matter? I just moved my broody to a bigger nest, and she did fine. What an obstinate girl! I've moved her 4 times now and she just goes with it. I did notice that she has almost no feathers on her belly anymore? Is that normal for broodies? Anyways, no hatches, but plenty of pips and loud peeps! :)

Some broodys are just so calm! Others are just so cranky!

Broodys lose their feathers on their belly's so the eggs can sit right next to their skin along the keel bone, so they can be as warm as possible.

Ours started hatching this morning and all day. We now have 10 hatched and alot of them are breaking their shells making the 1st hole (Is this called pippng?) lo I'm new to this. But they are looking strong. All of these eggs were purchased from a local farmer and she washed and refridgerated them. I never told her I wanted to incubate them. So we took a chance. We have 60 more eggs to go. I never knew that it only took 18 days to incubate, thought it was 21 days? But I love this forum and learning quite a bit.

She had 2 little babies when I woke up this morning! She prolly has more now! You can only see one in the pic. They are so cute!

Well, you can see a little bit of the other one. It's yellow, right behind the red one.
