I just set 17 of my mixed flock eggs in my bator tonight. Mind if I join the hatch along? have some jb coturnix eggs coming in the mail and will add th when they get here as well as 6 BBS Orpington eggs that are being shipped on Monday...I just add as I go along..they hatch when they want and I never have a problem with staggering hatches like that. I have a LG incubator that I refuse to use the fan or turner in cause they always ruin the hatches. So I hand turn three times a day and keep a good eye on the temps and I get between 98 and 100% hatch rates this way

I built a brooder box. And the owner of some of the eggs got me a 50lb bag of chick starter. U guys think 50lb bag will be enough for 40 chicks??

Heres pics of an egg from day 1- day 5.
It is a White egg
I used a high power light and a very dark room
darker eggs u wont be able to see veins as easy

Thank you for the pics.My chicken eggs are dark but I think I can see some veining.The duck eggs due around the 1st are very dark on one side and veins on the other side.Do you think their good?We've hatched before.But I just put them in and Waite.The Waite the hard part.I love to see what colors they are.

if theres veins there fine. the darkness is the chick. lol

the egg in the pics was a very white egg with a thin shell. and i used a high powerd light. thats y its easy to see veins lol

Ah! Well I'm a stay at home mom of five I have LOADS of time on my hands dont ya know lmao! My kids are 9,7,6,3, and 18 months. Hehe! I enjoy what I do, thats all I need I guess.

I couldn't possibly keep track of all of that.
