Anyone have eggs going in today July 1st?

I put in 16 don't know what type of chicken yesterday. A friend of my daughter brought them over to hatch for her.

I have a bunch of barnyard chicks in along with some bantys. Hoping to add some BBS Orphingtons soon - (coming in the mail). Happy hatching everyone!

I have not hatched out pheasant eggs before, so I'm not completely sure. I have heard both that they need more humidity and that they can go at the same humidity as the chicken eggs. Since I only have the pheasant in my bator, I'm going to run them at a bit more humidity than I did when I did the chickens last time.

I think they should be okay at hatching, but it might be a good idea to keep an eye on them (as if you wouldn't be watching the bator anyway

) Good luck with your hatch!

Last night I started 15 Buff Rocks, 4EE's, and 4 Isa Mutts. I may sneak in a couple of today's eggs when I get home though.

I feel funny not having a full bator.

I took a quick look into my eggs and saw dark masses. I think that they are growing!!!! How about you? If some are clear, can they still develop as it has only been three days?

It's only day 3 here, too, and I tried candling mine tonight as well.

These darn pheasant eggs are so dark I can't really see anything, even with my little LED light that was so good with the chicken eggs.

My temps have been fluctuating more than I'd like, so I'm not sure anything is going to develop. I hate the idea of running the bator for 3 more weeks if nothing is going to hatch but if something is developing I don't want to give up on it too soon.

Isn't it amazing how utterly impatient we get when there are eggs in the bator? I really want to candle tonight, but I am going to wait until tomorrow night, just to give them a little extra time. It is hard waiting though!
