Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

LOL don't blame you! I have 2 salmon favs, 2 EE's, 1 buff brahma, 1 cream legbar, 1 white orp, 1 sl Wyandotte and a black australorp. The BA just started squatting the other day. 26 week old Freeloaders!!!

I sympathise with ya'll! from our flock of 7 hens, we have had about three eggs a day dwindling down to one from spring, and now they are all pretty much molting. The pullets haven't settled down yet either to lay. They are all freeloading on the organic food

Our hen that adopted us last October didn't start laying til February, and our banty that we got in February didn't start laying til August. Fortunately we don't have to deal with a winter decrease in eggs, as they are both snug and safe as house chickens.

What's wrong with people? To throw a rooster over someone's fence not really knowing what was there.
Years ago we looked at an old creole cottage, it needed TONS of work, but the bones were beautiful. While we were there, off the beaten path, someone drove up and put a box out of their truck. After he left we looked and it was a box full of kittens. We brought them back to New Orleans to the SPCA.

Same here I have a bunch of freeloading silkies 21-30 weeks and no one has started laying. My husband was helping put away groceries the other day and asked me why we have spent nearly $1000 on chickens and building a coop and still buying eggs

We have 6 and they aren't youngsters anymore so we are bearly getting enough eggs for the week. I really need more hens again as I used to supply 2 different neighbors. That was when we had a rooster and 12 young hens.

Ugh, god, I hate hearing stuff like that. People suck.

But then there's people like us who really don't suck. So I guess it balances out, a bit. Hopefully there are more of the suckers (us) than the suckees (them).
