Anyone have pencilled rocks?

Penciled bantam araucanas, anyone? That's the only roo these girls have access to.

YEEEEEHAAAA! Just got my very first Silver Penciled Rock egg! I was so pleased..they never have gone in the nest boxes, but by gosh there was an egg right where it should be. Good Girl! So, for anyone interested, I should have some eggs to sell before long. Have to get more and pop 'em in the bator to check fertility, then we'll be ready to rock (pun intended).

Ooooooo! Me Me Me!

I don't have an incubator so I'll need to wait for someone to go broody again. It shouldn't take long with two silkies out there.

ME!!! Only problem is its "the God forsaken time of year" here in "God's Country" wind blowing, and 3-5 degrees...snowed last few days so it could drop in temps and my Nesco 18 quart Roaster Oven/incubator is full till the end of Jan '09...Please keep me in mind for anytime after that!

I am going to order SPR chicks from Superior farms. You are welcome to order some as well if you do not mind coming to Memphis to get them.

They only sell 6 SPR (and most other breeds) chicks per order, otherwise I'd almost be willing to drive to Memphis to split an order with you. I'm still waiting to hear if they're selling eggs this time of year so I can order a couple dozen.

I don't think they sex them -- they don't have prices for pullets, cockerels, and straight run.

The fact that they'll sell eggs by the dozen but only a half dozen chicks makes me wonder if they aren't culling the chicks that don't appear to meet their standards (or selling them to McMurray).
