Just your pistols? All my DH's firearms have names (rifles, pistols & shotguns).

I have to many to name and try remembering! So only the pistols get named.

my hubby and i got ours the same day. it's not hard but do read the book before the class. i'm not sure who teaches now but the permit will go thru the county office in albany.

talking in code can be a good way to keep others from being alarmed. so when hubby says "chip is in the car" i know what he is talking about but everyone else around is clueless.

Yep that's why I name my pistols, But I don't leave firearms in a vehicle unattended.

leave the gun safe closed up for too long and they get frisky, mate and reproduce!

I still swear that's how I got the new Baby derringer. I've been keeping the shotguns next to each other just in case, I'm hopping for a .410 soon!

Congrats on the new CCW law in Illinois!

I recently took a ccw class.Thy courthouse was VERY busy taking applications,and giving permits.People of all ages and both sexes getting them.I enjoyed my class,and shooting the next day was fun. I wish I could shoot in my yard.

Washington is an 'open carry' state, but most people don't know that so the local PD usually gets called when someone open carrys. The pistol license here is a CPP (Concealed Pistol Permit) and both the DW and I have ours. I typically carry a Walther PPK/S, my wife a Taurus .38Spl revolver.

About 10 years ago, I had a .40 pistol stolen from my home. This past Spring, I got a postcard from the Sheriff's property department telling me that my pistol had been recovered. It was in good shape, except for one thing... it was seriously shot-out. In other words, the barrel was practically worn smooth by the gang-banger that had it.

Lesson here is that the bad guys are usually a really good shot because they practice shooting a lot.

Indiana Technically is, meaning the law is worded that you must have a permit to conceal carry only, but most people don't try to push their luck.
