Anyone in WV???

oh, they do? They’re in Ohio, right? Do you know how good their stock is? Have you ever gotten chickens from them before? Pity about the speckled sussex, those were also on the top of my “want” list. I was just wanting them now so they’d be around the same age as the chicks I should have hatching today or tomorrow. Though, if Meyer isn’t a good hatchery, I’d rather not bother with it and I’ve never dealt with shipped eggs before.

Yea, they're up in Ohio. I've had chicks shipped from them and picked them up there. We've had good luck with their birds and they generally have a good reputation. Their Lavender Orpingtons are more expensive than most hatcheries but probably a bit better quality than most as well. They have those available for November 30th, Wyandottes the following week, and a few other breeds in stock. Meyerhatchery.com

oh cool, thanks for the info. Have you ever dealt with their shipped eggs before? Also, I might consider waiting, how much do you sell your lavenders for? Meeting in Parkersburg is a lot closer than driving to Meyers.

Yeah, I saw that but I am kind of nervous about the shipping with how things have been going with the postal services lately.
From what I've seen, it is mainly things that go through MAJOR metro areas that have trouble. I know when I order from cackle hatchery (Missouri), the chicks go straight to their shipping depot, to my shipping depot (Charleston), to my local post office. My mail carrier will even bring them to me if they arrive at the PO before he starts his route. His wife rides with him and loves looking at the baby chicks. Since we are so close to OH, it might be a similar thing where it doesn't go near any major metro areas. You could call Meyer and ask them how their shipments are going.

I haven't had their eggs shipped but I know a lot of people do. I generally trust Meyer to package well and ship promptly.

I'm not sure yet but they won't be much. No more than 10 a bird, straight run. We have stock from several places but this will be the first generation bred here. Just a project for now. We have a very large handsome roo for size, good temperaments and decent feather quality so I'm hopeful.

I should have olive eggers and cream legbars as well. Olive eggers are cream legbar over black copper marans or barnevelder.

I do have 2 golden laced wyandotte hens available. About 7 months, just started laying. Pretty birds. Just opening space for spring.

Ohhhh, how much are you wanting to sell the Wyandotte’s for? Would they be around the same price or in the 20s?

As for the lavenders, would you be willing to sell hatching eggs eggs too or just the chicks? Either is fine, I’ll definitely keep you in mind. I just got a bonus today, so I’m really feeling the chicken math.

Hi all. Proud duck momma from Williamsburg, WV. We currently have 11 ducks and our flock is mixed.... 4 Pekins, 1 Rouen, 1 Runner, 4 Khaki Campbells, and 1 Pekin/Rouen (or possibly Khaki) cross, which is our newest and is only 3 days old. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and see if there's anyone who lives close by.

Just checking in from the Morgantown area. I have 15 girls, 5 each of ROR, Bared Rock & ISA Browns. If anyone knows of someone wanting to give up a young(ish), healthy rooster, please pass the word.
Thanks
I'll be coming up to the Morgantown area tomorrow afernoon/evening. I have numerous cockerels that you could have. I have New Hampshire, New Hampshire/Cochin cross, Cornish and Cornish/EE cross cockerels.
