I never thought of that way, being worded that concept of inanimate elements into living beings. We could attempt to explain it until we turn blue in the face and still be unsuccessful.
I believe in the Big Bang theory.....all in Steve Hawking and Carl Sagan sciencific minds. It would make my brain go on overdrive to absorb all that information. How in the world they figure that out? All that math figuring could not have been that possible and not sure if they were searching for religious beginnings.
I remember when I was a kid, a kid in my classroom said that the black holes in space was God's mouth to eat you up!

You asked me a question back on post 1430.. Sorry I missed it.
Can I accept all?
Lets define accept: ac·cept (k-spt)
v. ac·cept·ed, ac·cept·ing, ac·cepts1.
a. To answer affirmatively: accept an invitation.
b. To agree to take (a duty or responsibility).
2. To receive (something offered), especially with gladness or approval: accepted a glass of water; accepted their contract.
3. To admit to a group, organization, or place: accepted me as a new member of the club.
a. To regard as proper, usual, or right: Such customs are widely accepted.
b. To regard as true; believe in: Scientists have accepted the new theory.
c. To understand as having a specific meaning.
5. To endure resignedly or patiently: accept one's fate.
6. To be able to hold (something applied or inserted): This wood will not accept oil paints.
7. To receive officially: accept the committee's report.
8. To consent to pay, as by a signed agreement.
9. Medicine To receive (a transplanted organ or tissue) without immunological rejection..
To receive something, especially with favor. Often used with of.
With the dictionaries definition of accept the honest answer is NO I can not accept all. Tolerate yes, have sympathy for yes. But by no means can I accept beliefs that make the believer some how superior or better than the non believer. That includes those that think all that do not believe in a specific definition of Jesus or for that matter any other deity will go to hell. (Which I personally do not believe in anyway...)
Good luck with your beliefs..I hope they work out for you...

receive with gladness-------that other people think differently than me. further more I would hope that you would not accept something as truth just because someone said it. I wasnt talking about accepting a belief. I was stating that I can accept people who have a different belief. Again I will state I dont know who is and who is not going to hell.

I'm sorry.. but i have to disagree with you..
The REAL reason that i/we dont hear from god is because there is NO god...
I HATE to be the bearer of such bad news to you .... but if you think theres heaven after death.. then honestly.. i'd make other "back-up" plans...
Its common sense really. The bible is just a story.. a fable.. a fiction written by a normal man... its known as the greatest fiction ever written.
But if YOU believe in god... then, hey.. thats great! To each their own beliefs, i say!
Just dont try to push your beliefs onto me.... because your beating a dead horse and thats not very "christian".
I wish you the very best with your god..
This is what redhen wrote. I don't see that she begrudged anyone their believes. She is an atheist, of course she doesn't believe in god. Many people on this thread are either atheists, or agnostic.
If she went on the Christian thread and was told by the posters that there was a God, would the religious people be begrudging atheism? I don't think so. It is their believes and what I would expect from them.
The thread that started this was a person who said they beleived in God. But didnt believe in Religion . I would hardly call that person and atheist.
OK,
Sure me too Melissa034. Just as long as they do not cause harm or discriminate against others that are different than them. That I can accept...

I guess the theres just to many variations of what a person considers a religious or non-religious person. Because I dont agree with many organized religions. I consider myself non-religious. I do consider myself a believer in God. and for me that means God the father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. When I went into detail about what I believe, I was doing so in response to questions directed to me.
