Anyone noticing an unusually poor November egg production?

Yeah, I have not gotten any eggs in over a month. Last year I got them all year long, not a lot of them, but at least 1 every 2 weeks.

I'm still getting 6 for 6 in central ny! What gives they are all young, so am I lucky or should I expect a drop next winter?? Oh I use no heat or artificial light, but they still free range everyday in our modest,1/4 acre backyard. They have dug through, so far 74 inches of snow and are still killing the grass???!!! Crazy Girls!!

That's exactly the situation I had last winter, with first year Golden Comets. This year they are laying less eggs, but still enough to make pun'kin pies, cornbread, and a delicious Christmas Eve scrambled egg breakfast.

I think the free ranging helps alot; we only have a1/4 acre too. Every blade of grass is fair game! And under the shrubs, where lots of leaves are, they dig for who knows what... But they sure keep themselves amused...

And now the days are growing longer again-
Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas everyone!
